GS Caltex has signed Choi Ga-eun (23) from Korea Expressway Corporation and Seo Chae-won (21) from Pepper Savings Bank as compensation for the departures of free agents Kang So-hui (27) and Handa Hye (29), respectively.
Choi, a 6-foot-4 middle blocker, began her professional career in the 2019-20 season with the fifth overall pick in the first round. She switched to Pepper Savings Bank’s rookie team as a specially designated player ahead of the 2021-22 season. In 2022-23, she was a key player for the team, ranking 10th in blocking. Seo Chae-won is another middle blocker who stands at 6-foot-2.
