Macau’s casino gross gaming revenue (GGR) rose 246.9% year-on-year in March, slightly below MOP 12.74 billion ($1.58 billion). The March tally was up 23.4% from the previous month, according to data released on Saturday by the local regulator, the Game Inspection and Coordination Bureau.

The March results indicate that the GGR for the first quarter totaled 34.64 billion MOPs, up 94.9% year-over-year.
In February 2023, the GGR fell 10.8% month-on-month compared with strong January earnings, coupled with eased COVID-19-related travel restrictions, Chinese New Year holidays.
The tally for the first half of 2023 accounted for 82.1% of the total GGR for 2022. For the whole of 2022, Macau Casino GGR decreased 51.4% Y/Y to $42.2 billion in MOP.
