Korea Cup quarterfinals…Ulsan to face Gwangju, Pohang to face Jeju

The quarterfinals of the 2024 Hana Bank Korea Cup will feature Gwangju FC against Ulsan HD and Jeju United against Pohang Steelers.

The Korea Football Association held the draw for the semifinals of the 2024 Hana Bank Korea Cup on Friday at the Football Hall in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The draw pitted Gwangju against Ulsan and Jeju against Pohang.

Gwangju, who are coming off their best season in franchise history, will look to reach their first final against Ulsan. 토토사이트 Defending champion Pohang will meet Jeju in the semifinals for the second straight year.

The Korea Cup quarterfinals will be played home and away.

The first leg will take place on Aug. 21 between Jeju and Pohang at Jeju World Cup Stadium and Gwangju and Ulsan at Gwangju Football Stadium.

The second leg will be played on Aug. 28 between Pohang and Jeju at Pohang Steel Yard and Ulsan and Gwangju at Ulsan Munsu Stadium.

The final will be played on Nov. 30 at Seoul World Cup Stadium in a single-leg match.

Last year, Jeju and Pohang met in the quarterfinals, with Pohang emerging victorious and winning the title.

“We will use the experience of losing to Pohang last year as a springboard to play a great game,” said Jeju head coach Kim Hak-beom. Pohang coach Park Tae-ha responded, “We will continue the good memories.”

“I was looking forward to meeting Ulsan,” said Gwangju head coach Lee Jung-hyo, “and we will prepare well considering the characteristics of the tournament.”

Newly appointed Ulsan head coach Kim Pan-gon said, “We will meet Gwangju, who play attack-oriented soccer, and we will show our aggressive side,” adding, “We will prepare for a match that the fans will enjoy.”
