Defending champion Asan Woori Bank got a triple-double performance from Park Ji-hyun to level the playoffs at one game apiece.
Woori Bank won 70-57 at home against Yongin Samsung Life in the second round (best-of-five) of the Woori WON 2023-2024 Women’s Professional Basketball Playoffs (PO) on 스포츠토토 Wednesday at Yi Sunshin Gymnasium in Asan, Chungcheongnam-do.
Woori Bank, which lost 56-60 at home in the first round two days ago, will play the third game away on Thursday with a 1-1 record.
Woori played a full 40 minutes of Kim Dan-bi and Park Ji-hyun, while Park Hye-jin played 37 minutes and 30 seconds.
Park Ji-hyun recorded a triple-double with 27 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds, while Kim Dan-bi followed with 19 points.
After dropping the first game, Woori Bank opened up a 10-point lead, 36-26, at halftime and never trailed in the second half.
Samsung Life fought back with Kiana Smith and Kang Yoo-rim playing 40 minutes apiece, but it was not enough to secure their second straight away win.
Smith led the way with 27 points, nearly half of her team’s total, including five three-pointers.
