Archery team ‘acclimatized’ in South Korea, dipping separately on first day of official training

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games organizing committee opened the doors to athletes from the participating nations on Monday (Aug. 19) to the Les Halles de Paris, France, where the archery competition will take place.

With the permission of the athletes, the media will be allowed to observe their training.

However, the South Korean archery team, the world’s strongest, did not participate in the ‘open training’ at the Les Invalides stadium on the day, but instead practiced at a ‘private training center’ in the neighboring Allea Paris.

It was a “rational” choice.

An official from the Korean Archery Federation told Yonhap News Agency, “From the first day of the public training, we decided that it was not necessary to train at Les Invalides. It would be a good way for us to prepare for the Games if we could train at the training grounds we are currently using freely.”

In the lead-up to the Games, the Korean Archery Federation, with the help of its sponsor, Hyundai Motor Company, built a “set” at the Jincheon Athletes’ Village that mimics the Legionnaires’ Range and held two “special matches” of its own.

The archery team may have decided that they didn’t need to rush to build the Les Invalides Saro.

In addition, they rented out an entire training center in the École des Arts in Paris, so that the athletes could train at any time.

In official training, the number of participating countries limits the amount of training time.

The Korean archery team was able to train as long as they wanted in an ‘all-you-can-eat’ environment.

The official training for the Legionnaires’ Cup will continue until the 24th.

The Korean archery team will move into the Olympic Village on Tuesday afternoon. They will take part in the official Legionnaires’ training afterward.

The Korean archery team in Paris is comprised of women’s archers Lim Im-hyun (Korea Gymnastics Federation), Jeon Hoon-young (Incheon City Hall) and Nam Soo-hyun (Suncheon City Hall) and men’s archers Kim Woo-jin (Cheongju City Hall), Kim Jeduk (Yecheon County Hall) and Lee Woo-seok (Kolon).

While the opening ceremony will take place on the 26th, archery will begin the day before with the men’s and women’s ranking rounds on the 25th.

The medal hunt will begin on the 28th with the women’s team event.

With five events in Paris, South Korea is confident of winning at least three gold medals in archery.

Korea’s archers have been through a selection process that is as tough as any Olympic tournament, and the Korean Archery Association has helped them with systematic support.

Now that they’ve arrived in Paris, the Korean archers have their sights set on the bull’s-eye, unperturbed by the outside world. 사설 토토사이트
