Liverpool senior urges, “Mbappe doesn’t fit in at Liverpool, better to sign three or four others”
Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) Kylian Mbappe has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, and now it’s Liverpool.
“Mbappe wants a move to the English Premier League (EPL) more than Real Madrid,” The Times recently reported. Liverpool are the favorites.” The key point is that Mbappe would be the most suitable replacement for Liverpool’s “ace” Mohamed Salah, who is expected to move to Saudi Arabia next summer.
One man has been a strong voice against this. John Aldridge, who played for Liverpool between 1987 and 1989. The former Irish international spoke out against Liverpool’s move for Mbappe in Ireland’s Sunday World.
“Liverpool should avoid signing Mbappe. Mbappe is a sensational footballer, of course. It would be interesting to see him in a Liverpool shirt, but Mbappe is not the right fit for Liverpool,” he argued.
“The Mbappe rumors have arisen because many believe Salah is a certainty to leave for Saudi Arabia this summer. Liverpool could get £200 million ($335.5 million) for Salah. The idea is to use that money to fund a move for Mbappe.”
“Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp will not allow this to happen,” he added.
“Mbappe would bring a lot of baggage to Liverpool. The superstar is a brand in himself. He can handle himself in the locker room. We know the influence Mbappe has at PSG. Klopp will not allow that kind of show at Liverpool.”
This means that the superstar that is Mbappe is an uncontrollable player. Everyone revolves around Mbappe. This means that he has the potential to harm the ‘first team’. This goes against Klopp’s philosophy, which is why he insists he won’t sign a superstar.
Finally, he added: “I expect Mbappe to eventually go to Real Madrid. Liverpool would be better off using the money from the sale of Salah to sign three or four quality players, not just one Mbappe.”
