Lottie Ward (England) won the 5th Augusta National Women’s Amateur Golf Tournament held ahead of the Masters, a major golf tournament.
Ward hit 3 under par 69 with 5 birdies and 2 bogeys in the third round on the last day of the tournament held at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, USA on the 7th (Korean time).
Ward, who recorded a final total of 8 under par 208 strokes, beat Bailey Shoemaker (USA, total 7 under par 209 strokes) by one stroke.
Ward, a sophomore at Florida State University, tied for 13th place in this competition last year, but took the top spot this year.
“I’ve been watching this competition since I was younger, and it’s very special to win,” Ward said.
The Augusta National Golf Tournament is an event held by inviting world-class female amateur players ahead of the major tournament, the Masters. The first and second rounds will be held at Champions Retreat Golf Club, and the final third round will be held at Augusta National Golf Club, the venue of the Masters. 스포츠토토
