Professional baseball’s Hanwha Eagles recruited a new foreign pitcher.

On the 29th, the Hanwha team announced that it had signed a contract with Panamanian right-handed pitcher Jaime Barria. The total contract size is $550,000 ($70,000 down payment, $480,000 annual salary).

Born in 1996, Baria debuted in the major league with the LA Angels in 2018 and appeared in a total of 134 games (62 as a starter) over 6 seasons, recording 22 wins, 32 losses, an ERA of 4.38 (462.2 innings), and 351 strikeouts.

According to the Hanwha team, Baria’s fastball with a high RBI based on soft balance is powerful. He is also a pitcher with excellent ability to use breaking balls and excellent control.

This season, he appeared in 13 games (1 starting game) for Cleveland’s Triple A team, recording an ERA of 4.81 in 24⅓ innings.

Baria said, “Because he was consistently interested in the KBO league, he really wanted to play as a player. “I am grateful to the Hanwha Eagles for giving me the opportunity,” he said. “I want to show all of my abilities to help the team win.”

Baria is scheduled to enter the country on the 30th and join the team on the evening of the 31st after undergoing a medical check. 고스톱
